Spectacular!After a great night on the 8th of November at Uncle Tom's Hall the finalist of the grand finale were chosen by the well selected panel of judges. Now what a great way to end year 2013! Miss Gay and Miss Lesbian Soweto was first produced in 2000. The annual event aims to “celebrate the wonderful diversity and also create awareness around issues impacting on the LGBTI community”. Miss Gay & Miss Lesbian Soweto act as ambassadors for the Soweto gay community. They have in the past made generous donations to the Othandweni Home, worked with Sohaca (Soweto HIV/Aids Counsellors Association), acted as a counsellor to young gays /lesbians, and have helped parents who have gay kids to und

BAR.ONE Manhunt Winner Revealed - Johannes takes the title of the Ultimate BAR.ONE Man

After 13 grueling weeks of emotional, physical and mental trials, 28 year old Midrand resident Johannes Mapalakanye won the coveted title of the Ultimate BAR.ONE Man. Season 3 of the BAR.ONE Manhunt took the Top 16 contestants and the viewers on a journey of discovering courage, leadership and integrity on a never-before-seen scale. In an adrenaline-packed and thrill-laden grand finale (which aired Tuesday 29 Oct on SABC 1) the top 3 contestants Johannes Mapalakanye, Bongs Ndima and Zwelandile Magaya battled it out at one of South Africa’s number 1 tourist destinations, Orlando Towers to complete what has been a non-stop test of their mental and physical ability. The grand finale solo challenges included some aptly named trials such as the Glass Box Break Out, Pallet Staircase, The Tough One and Breaking Bricks where the top 3 were pitted against each other. Festive cheer for a good cause with Old Mutual Music in the Gardens in association with Talk Radio 702

The Old Mutual Carols by Candlelight concerts have become a mainstay of the festive season and are synonymous with giving to the less fortunate. This year is no different: on 30 November and 1 December, the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens and Pretoria National Botanical Gardens (respectively) will reverberate to the sounds of Christmas carols. The Bala Brothers and the Field Band Foundation will lead the singing. The Field Band Foundation’s marching band will kick off proceedings with a stirring, expertly choreographed performance. This foundation is a youth-development project that engages underprivileged youngsters through music and dance. Hot new local comedy coming to SABC3

SABC3 is adding an exciting, new comedy show to its star studded line up. Loitering in Jozi is a one hour show staring popular comedian Marc Lottering and is due to start airing on Thursday 14 November at 20:00 and will run for 13 episodes.
